BIRD WATHCING TRIPS TO THE CHISWELL ISLANDS
Bird watching trips on the Seafarer take you to the Chiswell Islands where we will view
puffins, auklets, murrelets, murres, shearwaters, petrels, gulls, oystercatchers, guillemots, cormorants, kittiwakes, and eagles. There are bird rookeries where we can see nesting puffins and their neighbors. The Chiswell Islands are part of the Alaska Maritime Wildlife Refuge, the most widespread refuge in the country.
These trips leave the Seward boat harbor at 8:00 a.m. after the fishing vessel traffic dies down, and we will be back at the dock by 4:00 p.m.
The Seafarer is a fast, comfortable boat that takes a minimum of four people and a maximum of six, so you never have to feel crowded. We will accommodate groups that are interested in looking for specific species.
Lunch is provided, so all you have to bring are your binoculars, cameras, and rain gear for venturing outside the cabin on some inclement weather days.
The scenery is guaranteed spectacular, and the wildlife is usually abundant in the North Pacific coastal area. You will see sights that have helped keep the captain boating in this area since he was a young child.
The cost is $200 per person plus 7% sales tax and a $3.50 harbor fee.
